9.11.2000 - It's been almost 10 years since I was a Parkette gymnast - WOW! It is amazing to look back at those experiences that I had at such a young age and how they have continued to influence me in so many ways. I am sure they will continue to do so, too. Recently, I have worked with other Parkette gymnasts to found the Parkette Jana McQuown Club. Our hope is to allow those of us who would like to reconnect with former teammates and friends to do so. We also have plans for mentor programs and Jana McQuown outings. Since my time at Parkettes, many exciting things have happened. I graduated from Penn State University in 1998 with a degree in Marketing and Public Relations. I currently work for an Internet start-up company in Boston, MA in Business Development and Marketing. Look for in October of 2000 - our launch date is fast approaching! Our website is dedicated to helping parents to better understand child development and better communicate with their children's teachers around that same topic. I am very happy with my job, as well as my life in Boston. My family is doing well - my sister, Eve, recently obtained her Masters in Genetics from UC Davis. The most exciting news of late, however, is that my mother was remarried this summer - a great day for my entire family! You'll also see my name on the Parkette website - for the past 2 years, I have worked as a business consultant of sorts for the gym - doing everything from brochure design to press kits and website development. It has been a great experience to get involved back in the sport that really has given me so much. I urge all of you to do the same - I can't wait to hear from you!
